SB 120 -- CASS COUNTY COLLECTOR

SPONSOR:  Caskey (Rector)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Local Government by a vote of 13 to 0.

This bill authorizes Cass County to deposit up to .20% of all ad
valorem property tax collections on newly constructed property
into the assessment fund of the county for collection costs.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will help the Cass
County collector do a better job collecting taxes.  Additional
collecting funds are needed.

Testifying for the bill was Senator Caskey.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
